An organization founded on Jewish values of charity and deeds of kindness, Shorefront JCC serves everyone with dignity and empathy, regardless of race, ethnicity or religion.
Mission and History
The mission of Shorefront JCC is to improve the quality of life of low-income seniors and families residing in South Brooklyn by offering a wide-range of social services, support, and connections to vital resources that enable families and seniors to continue living comfortably and safely in their homes and communities.
I came to the United States from the Soviet Union looking for a better life for my family. I had limited opportunities because of my lack of English and no financial resources. I came to SJCC and attended free ESL classes. I then was able to enroll in their job training program to become a Dental office receptionist. I am not employed and grateful to the support SJCC provided me.
